"Our mission is to inspire the next generation of animal lovers and conservationists from as early an age as possible" Says Ruth. She believes exposing children to the amazing wildlife on our planet is the best hope of protecting it for the future.
The Little Black & white Book Project are excited to combine a love for animals with a passion for parenting and to sharing illustrations with Mums, Dads and little people all around the world.
Why Black And White?
When a baby is born their retinas are not fully developed and a baby sees the world very differently to an adult. Although they have been able to distinguish between light and dark in the womb, a new born can still only detect very large contrasts between light and dark after birth such as black and white. This means that pretty much all of the wider world around them is blurry and they cannot distinguish between shapes or colours.
As advocates of conscious consumerism, Ruth believes it is possible for both people and planet to profit and she is keen that this project is able to give a little something back to the animals that inspired her. That's why 25% of the profits from every product, will be donated to wildlife and conservation charities worldwide.
