The Little Black & White Book Project are excited to combine a love for animals with a passion for parenting and to sharing illustrations with Mums, Dads and little people all around the world. The Little Black & White Book Project was created by Mum, Graphic Designer & Animal Lover, Ruth Bradford. Ruth believes in exposing children to the amazing wildlife on our planet as early as possible and that children are our best hope for protecting it in the future. 

When a baby is born their retinas are not fully developed and a baby sees the world very differently to an adult. They are able to distinguish light and dark but only in very harsh contrasts. This means that as newborns pretty much all of the wider world around them is blurry and they cannot distinguish between shapes or colours. Therefore all books are design by Ruth to help and support babies growth and development, whilst still teaching them about the natural world.
