FRANKLY'S TOP TIPS TO CURE THOSE JANUARY BLUES!

1.  Get as much daylight as possible!

Weather its walk, jog or just out for a stroll. We know if can be so tricky to have the motivation to go out when its cold and rainy. This is so important to staying positive and upbeat in what can be a tricky month.

2. Treat yourself

Don't be too hard on yourself, we know no one sticks to those resolutions anyway. Be kind to yourself and treat yourself to something nice on at least one occasion. We promise you'll feel better for it!

3. Beware of New Year resolutions!

This leads us onto the dreaded new years resolutions! People tend to make resolutions now because of guilt, and that’s not the best long term motivator. They tend to make difficult and vague resolutions, such as “save money”, “be more organised” or “lose weight”. Then they fail, and feel worse. If you’re going to make a resolution, make sure it’s one you can manage and measure, such as “On school evenings, do an hour of homework with my phone off, because I’ll work better.” Then do it and feel better!

4. Try something new!

Why not pick up a new skill or try something you've been meaning to do for ages. This can be a great way to get the new year off to a great start and begin the year feeling positive and upbeat!

5. Exercise!

The good news is that it doesn’t have to mean getting hot and sweaty – a brisk walk is perfect (and gives you daylight, too.) You may not fancy exercise but you’ll feel much better afterwards.
